JoSAA is the Joint Admission Board for IITs and NITs which has been introduced by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It has been created as a result of the increasing number of institutions which want to be a part of the elite Indian Institutes of Technology and National Institutes of Technology. JoSAA has announced that the counselling for admission to take place in 2021

Process to apply for IIT, NIT admissions

Students who are looking to get into IIT, NIT must fill out the application form. It is important that you fill out the application form fully and carefully. Along with the application form, students must also submit their 10th and 12th mark sheets along with their birth certificate. Once all this information has been submitted by the applicant, it will be assessed by an expert committee which will decide whether or not the student is qualified for admission in IITs, NITs.

Requirements for applying for IIT, NIT admissions

JoSAA can be accessed through the official JoSAA 2021 website. 

The applicant must provide the following documents:

- Application fee 

- A copy of their Aadhaar card with a recent passport size photo. 

- Scanned copies of all their previous academic certificates, including class 10th and 12th certificates 

- Birth certificate (copy and original) (in case  your names have changed since birth).

Decision on the basis of rank and parents' income

JoSAA will conduct counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes. Candidates with higher rank can get seats in coveted institutes through JoSAA if their parents' income is less than Rs 6 lakh per annum.
